Day 01 Windhoek to Himba Village | Cultural Discovery

Depart early in the morning from Windhoek and travel north-west towards the Himba community.

The journey takes you through changing landscapes and remote areas, gradually moving away from Namibia's towns and into a more
traditional rural environment.

Upon arrival at the Himba village, meet the community and settle into your traditional sleeping hut.

This first evening offers an opportunity to experience
the simplicity of village life and observe the daily activities of the community. Rather than simply visiting for a few hours, you will spend the night within the village, giving you a more meaningful opportunity to experience the environment.

Day 02 Himba Village | Full Day Cultural Immersion

Spend the entire day immersed in the daily life of the Himba community. This is the heart of the experience, allowing you to move beyond a conventional cultural visit and spend meaningful time with the people.

Depending on the activities taking place in the village, you may observe or participate in daily tasks, learn about traditional Himba customs, family structures, beliefs, food preparation, livestock and their relationship with the environment. Take time to speak with community members, ask questions and interact naturally with the children and families.

Meals will be cooked and shared with the community, providing an opportunity to experience traditional food and the social side of village life. The experience is deliberately simple and authentic, so an open mind, respect and a down-to-earth attitude are essential.

Day 3 Himba Village - Windhoek | Return Journey and Drop-Off

After a final opportunity to say goodbye to the community, depart the Himba village and begin your journey back to Windhoek.

Enjoy the changing landscapes as you travel south, reflecting on the experience and cultural encounters of the previous two days. Arrive in Windhoek in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of this immersive Himba experience.
